Pet Obituary

Losing your beloved pet is heartbreaking. They have given unconditional love and, even in passing, they keep giving – fond memories of hilarity and mischief and most of all, love.

They leave us with memories that can be forever remembered in an obituary – a tribute of their life – that can also help you cope with your grief and sadness.  A pet obituary can help you heal.

Many pet owners’ grief is just as heart wrenching as the loss of a human loved one. Some who haven’t experienced that constant companionship and deep love may not understand pet bereavement and pet parents may not be able to share their sadness with family and friends. A pet obituary can help you share  that loss.

Along with pet bereavement comes certain challenges. Perhaps you have irrational guilt thinking of your last days together. “We didn’t go on his favourite walk” or “I worked too much and ignored playtime.”

You may also be angry your best friend had a shorter life than expected, but for animal lovers, even a “good long life” is never long enough. I’ve been there and I get it.

To honour these beloved family members, some owners sprinkle their pet companion's ashes, while funerals and memorials are becoming more common. Pet obituaries are also growing in popularity.

Meanwhile, connecting with other animal lovers can often help pet owners better deal with your emotions and grief.

Online communities such as the RainbowBridge (free) are resources that offer support from people who understand your grief.

I can help you celebrate the life of your pet in a meaningful way. Posting a memorial on my site for you to share with family and friends can help provide solace for you and everyone else who loved your companion.

Want to to write your own pet memorial? I'll publish it on Your Everlasting words with photos to share with friends and family for just $25.

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains un-awakened.”
